Recap of last term:
We learned about the 6 senses- Sight, sound, touch, taste, smell, mood.
This we learned in the first drama session with Rachel, these 6 senses are essential when performing, allowing the audience to feel the mood of the character or even the scene can draw the audience in and make them feel as if they're there with you.
Using these senses makes you a better performer, and allows you to engage with the audience and creates an atmospheric performance.
On the 25th of September, we were put into different groups and each group had a different story about different cultures around the world. I was paired with Elizabeth and we were performing a story of 'Obatala creates life' this was a story about the gods and how the World was created and life was brought life.
This was part of our story telling assessment and our performance was recorded by camera.
From this I learned a story of which I'd never heard before and found it interesting although found parts funny!
Matt you are not including enough analysis to gain the higher grades. You only give a few lines of opinion...this is a start but needs to be expanded upon. I have made suggestions below.
ReplyDelete"allowing the audience to feel the mood of the character or even the scene can draw the audience in and make them feel as if they're there with you."
- You could explain what choices you made that helped the audience be drawn into the scene? You could discuss why you think that worked and how it could be developed in future?
"Using these senses makes you a better performer, and allows you to engage with the audience and creates an atmospheric performance."
- You could explain what exactly improved your performance by providing an example? What created the atmosphere? Why did it work?
"From this I learned a story of which I'd never heard before and found it interesting although found parts funny!"
-You could expand on this by discussing the challenges and how you embraced the humour within the narrative?
I hope this is helpful and that you can review your other entries and expand on them.
